Buddy the Manta! As affectionately named by my dive buddy Bruce. This manta ray was the friendliest creature I have ever met underwater. He came up to our small group at Roca Partida toward the end of our dive. Being almost out of air, I had to go back to the zodiac, and was getting pretty jealous of my group members still getting to play with this amazing creature! Then I remembered that I did have a snorkel with me, and jumped right back in the water to snorkel around. I ended up playing with him for about 15 minutes. Buddy would swim toward me and do a flip at the last second and pass underneath me very closely. Then he'd come around for another pass, again and again! Not many people can say they have played with a manta ray, and it will be an experience and a buddy that I will never forget.
